A "doujinshi" that has long puzzled Sailor Moon fans is Selenity’s The Act of Animations. It comes up on Ebay from time to time, with a really expensive price tag attached. It is a book that was published by the actual animators of Sailor Moon, and contain real sketches that was used for the anime series. Because of this, many have wondered why this book is categorized as a doujinshi. Why isn’t this book an official Sailor Moon item…?

I stumbled across this hella cute sketch of Seiya Kou and Tsukino Usagi while flipping through an ancient issue of Animage magazine! I had never seen this sketch before, but knew immediately that the image was no fan art. Animage featured an 18 page tribute to Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, titled “Sayonara Sailor Moon,” because the long-running anime was officially ending that month. To express her personal gratitude for the series, one of the show’s key animators and character designers Tamegai Katsumi, submitted this sketch into the magazine.

What a surprise - I have always thought the first one would be Kitagawa Keiko (Hino Rei / Sailor Mars)! She has not announced her wedding date yet, nor has she mentioned about her fiance - I am eager to know who the lucky guy is! Anyway, my big congrats to our Senshi of Water and Intellect! ^___^

After their PGSM days, the five Senshi actresses have always kept their bonds with each other, even to this day. And a number of Senshi reunions have been continuously held over the years; Not to mention their keeping in touch over the net. However, due to the ascending of Kitagawa Keiko (Hino Rei / Sailor Mars in PGSM) toward A-list artist status, and her resultant heavy workloads, she has been missing in the Senshi reunions for more than half year. So her presence in the one held the night before yesterday is miraculous - Especially as it was organized within a short notice. I think the five busy girls have constantly cross-matched their schedules to squeeze out some precious time slots to meet; Hence their often hurriedly planned meetings.
